On The Thames

I met these guys while wandering around London with my Mamiya 645 camera. Looking at this photo now makes me think about how fast and how much things have changed since I started doing photography - for years, after I graduated from college, I traveled with a manual medium format camera, a light meter, and many, many rolls of film.  I loved the suspense that came with not seeing what I shot right away.  Shooting digitally became necessary for commercial work but I still have a thing for film - though I don't process or print it myself these days.  Actually, just last week, I gave away my entire darkroom to a friend - there isn't space for it in our tiny apartment...it sort of marked the end of an era for me.
