Miami - Instagram Diary

1. Miami - almost there!
2.  South Beach - perfect calm and pop of red shorts.
3. Soothing colours & art deco; photographer at work
4.  Drive-bys from our rented car - mural on Collins Ave & city architecture.
 5.  Fluffy clouds on our evening walk along the beach.
6. Happiness.
7. Could have walked on the beach forever, watching the ever-changing pastel palette of the sky at sunset.
8.  Miami art deco & pretty pastel cabins on the beach in the morning.
9.  Morning walk on the beach.
10.  The beach almost all to ourselves...
11.  So much sunshine!
12.  The colours of Miami make me so happy.
13.  Til' next time.....

Between the Christmas holidays, work, and our winter travels, I haven't been able to work on my photos as much as I've wanted to - I'm finally starting to edit photos from our trip to Florida in November!  We just got a mountain of snow here in Toronto so the sunshine and colours of Miami are just what I need right now.  Plus, I shot everything in B&W on our trip to NYC last week so I'm giving myself a cheerful dose of colour!

Badlands

They call these the badlands.

Malpais, Costa Rica - I was moved by the dramatic, rugged, untouched natural beauty of the beach.  Yet, I felt completely vulnerable in the vast, otherworldly landscape of the southern Nicoya Peninsula - it was all at once beautiful, awesome, and terrifying.

Paris

books for sale on the Seine

I love being surrounded by old books.  I like thinking about where they came from, their slight decay - crustily glued spines, dog-eared pages, other people's pen marks.  I even love the musty smell of old bookshops.  Similarly, I love that Paris is well worn by time and people.

Football Frenzy

Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Buffalo, NY

I have to admit, I'm not exactly a sports-fan.  I think it comes from having failed at sports my entire life.  I was that kid - hoping, praying I wouldn't be picked last for the team....and always was. But, having finally experienced it for myself this weekend, I have to say football is kind of exciting - there is a real electrifying and contagious buzz of energy around the whole thing.
